Geddes Wines is a unique winery where all the fruit is sourced locally in Mclaren Vale by Tim personally who sees the importance of having a relationship with growers as being essential, not just a contract of supply.

All Geddes wines are all hand made in their own winery in Blewitt Springs by Tim. These wines are made created not produced. Tim takes great pride in getting to know the growers and stopping to have a beer with them and getting to know them as the characters they are. As Tim says, he can trace all the footprints of the grapes down to the truck driver that delivered them and their lovely wives that keep them on the strait and narrow. We stop for lunch and celebrate the vintage rather than endure it.

Tim also shares his winery with other winemakers as a small contract facility. This creates diversity, an extra hand during busy times, and a lot of laughter. Tim’s kids can be seen after school riding their go karts around the winery and are a huge part of the life of Geddes wines. 

Seldom Inn by Geddes

The philosophy behind the label “Seldom Inn” was from the Late Pat Geddes who was one for living life and being a larger than life character.

Pat used to unplug the phone from the wall or ask his kids to say he wasn’t home. This resulted in his associates to make a sign saying "Seldom Inn" and hanging it on the driveway entrance.

Pat had his belief that turning the phone, computer and any other technology that makes you instantly contactable was a far better environment to be in when enjoying life with a glass of wine, tasty food and great friends.
