Ulithorne 2018 Dona Shiraz

Described as "Cult Wines" by Decanter Magazine Ulithone are one of those wine labels that never fail to impress making it perfect for any dinner, drinks or social situation. 

Ulithorne as a producer is known for making small batch quantities of wine.  Their red wines coming from selected parcels of grapes from its estate vineyard in McLaren Vale, planted in 1950 by Bob Whiting. These rare and high-quality wines are crafted to always consider the fruit first – ensuring that the final wine celebrates all that is unique in the flavours and structure of the fruit taste, as it ripens in the vineyard.

This 2018 Dona Shiraz is a perfect example of this care and attention given by this small batch and boutique producer.

"Red fruit aromas are upfront in a bright, lifted bouquet, with some peppery spice, mocha, and a touch of regional earthiness. Buoyant and sweet-fruited on the palate, there's appealing freshness with a light twist of astringency to finish" was how Halliday wine companion described this gem.
